Abstract
190,722. Archer, R. S., and Jeffries, Z. Dec. 20, 1921, [Convention date]. Alloys.-Aluminium alloys contain magnesium and not less than about 0.5 per cent of silicon, with or without other elements such as nickel, manganese and chromium, copper being absent except as an impurity. The alloys preferably contain about 1 per cent each of magnesium and silicon. The alloys are maintained at 500-580‹ C. for some time, and are either quenched outright and subsequently aged by being heated at 100- 200‹ C. for some time, or are quenched only to the temperature at which they are to be aged.
