Clutches, arrangements and applications of.- Motor-vehicles having epicyclic gearing and a main disc clutch are provided with a positive clutch between two parts of the propeller shaft in order to facilitate starting the engine in cold weather. The two parts 1, 2 of the propeller shaft may be connected by a dog-clutch or, as shown, by a sleeve 3 sliding on their squared ends, the clutch or sleeve being controlled either by an independent hand-lever 17 or by the change-gear lever, so that the clutch is disengaged when the gear-lever is in the neutral position.
