483,297. Driving - gear. ANDREAU, J. E. April 15, 1935, No. 19394/36. Void. Convention date, April 14, 1934. Divided out of 458,258. [Class 7 (ii)] An engine having a variable compressionratio is used to drive a road and rail vehicle provided with a stream-lined body, by incorporating in the transmission an automatic coupling, e.g. a hydraulic coupling capable of transmitting maximum torque when the vehicle is stationary. The means for varying the compression-ratio may be coupled with the throttle pedal or other engine controlling member as described in Specification 458,258.
