Abstract

424,395. Hydraulic transmission of power. O'CONNOR, A., 131, Kerford Road, Albert Park, Victoria, Australia. June 25, 1934, No. 18737. Convention date, March 2. [Class 69 (ii)] Hydraulic couplings usable in conjunction with any type of gear box without the aid of a friction clutch have means to allow automatic lateral separation of the elements. The runner 9 has a screw-thread mounting on the driven or gear shaft 18 or on a sleeve 6 fixed to the shaft, and is connected thereto by a spiral spring 21, which may be as shown or have a number of turns encircling the sleeve. Leakage is prevented by a member 15 forced into a leather or other washer 16.
