[Class 69 (ii)] In a hydraulic coupling, the driven element is moved axially relatively to the driving element under the action and/or control of one or more springs and governors arranged about the axis. In the form shown, the driven element 2 is acted on by a spring 23 and a stronger spring 28, and by governors with lighter and heavier weights 19, 29. The vanes 3, 4 overlap. The outer governor may be replaced by a manually operated control, and mechanical gearing may be positioned before or behind the coupling.
