Abstract

350,662. Hydraulic transmission of power. WATERBURY TOOL CO., East Aurora Street, Waterbury, Connecticut, U.S.A. April 25, 1930, No. 12764. Convention date. May 8,1929. [Class 69 (ii).] The control shaft of a hydraulic variable speed gear is operated by the receiver of a synchronous electric transmission device, having a transmitter located at a remote station, such as the top of an airship mooring mast. The electric device may have rotors 84, 95, Fig. 8, and stators with interconnected windings ; the rotor 95 through gearing actuates the servomotor valve 48, Fig. 3, so that liquid pumped through a pipe 66 is directed through passages 60, 55, or 56, above or below the servomotor piston 50, which is connected to the control shaft 54 of the hydraulic gear, exhaust liquid passing through a passage 62 into the gear casing. A relief valve is fitted in the pipe 66, and the servomotor valve may be held in mid position by a member 73.
