Abstract
212,260. Lhermitte, G. March 2, 1923, [Convention date]. Eccentric - actuated pumps. - An automatic control device comprises aligned driving and main driven shafts A<1>, A<3>, Fig. 1, connected by an eccentric C the position of which varies according to the resisting couple whereby the element C effects control like a governor. The element C rides upon an eccentric B fast to the driving-shaft, and power passes through yielding means R connecting the elements B, C. As the element C moves outwards responsive to change in torque, a hook c<2> upon it may engage and actuate a hook a<4> upon a governing member A<4>. In a modification, the yielding eccentric is utilized as a variable-throw eccentric to drive a reciprocating pump.
