Abstract

186,761. Knowles, W., and Hobbs, H. T. Aug. 5, 1921. Dispensing liquids. - Aerated - water and like siphons of the kind provided with a tank or reservoir for supplying liquid to the siphons as the liquid therein is withdrawn are arranged with means for equalizing the pressures in the upper and lower parts of the apparatus. An auxiliary tube e for this purpose is fixed to the usual central tube d of a siphon b connected to a supply tank a. In another form, the auxiliary tube passes through the tube d, and connects near the top of the tube d and through an aperture therein with the upper part of the siphon. This equalization of pressures allows thorough mixing of the gaseous and liquid contents, and also permits ready re-filling of the siphon from the tank. Such means for equalizing the pressures may also be applied to the supply tank.
