Abstract

424,253. Storing beverages &c. ROLPH, W. M., 1, Dover Street, Piccadilly, London. Aug. 18, 1933, No. 27581/32. [Class 116] [See also Group VI] Apparatus for storing and aerating liquids, especially suitable for aerating and revivifying beer, cider, or other beverages in casks, barrels, or the like comprises in combination a liquid container 29, a separate ordinary siphon device 9 for delivering liquid under pressure therefrom, a siphon supporting member 22 through which the siphon tube 10 passes into the liquid, and having detachably secured thereto an adaptor 116 for supplying carbon dioxide gas or air on to the surface of the liquid in the container, and means carried by the siphon supporting member 22 whereby liquid from the container may be led either straight to the siphon delivering nozzle 6, or first through a cooling chamber 41 thereto. Such means may comprise a tap 37 with the aid of which the liquid may either be allowed to flow direct to the spout 10, or sent by branch tubes 38, 39 through the cooling chamber 41. Where desirable, the adaptor 16 may be detached, and a handoperated pump supplying air substituted therefor.
