Abstract

113,636. Tate, W. R., and Park, A. V. Feb. 20, 1917. Direct gas-pressure apparatus. non-automatic. -Bottles, barrels, &c. for containing beverages under pressure are closed by a head fitted with a siphon tube 2 and valve 3, a compressed gas reservoir 5, and a diaphragm valve 12, the upper part of which is under pressure of a spring 17 and the lower part of which is attached to a valve 15 leading from the gas reservoir. When the pressure in the bottle is reduced by discharge of liquid, the diaphragm 12 is depressed and the valve 15 opened, and gas passes through the port 9 into the bottle. The gas reservoir is charged with gas through a valve 7 and port 8.
