Abstract

8174. Parkhurst, S. W. April 4. Direct gas-pressure apparatus, non-automatic.-In apparatus for raising beer or other liquids by compressed carbon dioxide or other gas, the gas is admitted to the barrel through the cock 6, and passage 5 in the bung 1. The passage 5 connects to a number of horizontal ducts 7 to avoid disturbance of the surface of the liquid. The bung is provided with a safety-valve 4 and is rendered gastight by means of an elastic ring 2 compressed by the nut 3.
