Direct gas-pressure apparatus, non-automatic.-In an apparatus for discharging inflammable liquids from a storage reservoir by a compressed inert gas, the liquid is caused to enter a small reservoir or forcing-chamber 2 inside the main reservoir 1 and is discharged therefrom by gas admitted through a gas-supply pipe 8 which has a by-pass 13 leading to the top of the main reservoir and controlled by a three-way valve 10, so that when the small forcing-chamber is empty, the by-pass can be opened and fresh liquid allowed to enter the forcing-chamber, expelling the inert gas through the by-pass into the top of the reservoir 1. The liquiddischarge pipe 4 is fitted with a small open by-pass 15 leading to the top of the chamber 1 for the purpose of preventing any siphoning action in the event of breakage of the delivery pipe 4. The pipes 4, 8, 13 are surrounded by safety jackets 6, 9, 14 with interconnecting pipes 19, 20 to equalize the pressure therein.
