Abstract

153,915. Muchka, J. Oct. 30, 1916, [Convention date]. Direct air-pressure apparatus, non-automatic. -In apparatus for storing and delivering inflammable liquids using an inert gas at atmospheric pressure, the liquid is delivered from an auxiliary tank H through the pipe 1 by the pressure of the gas which is supplied through an injector 4 which at the same time draws gas from the main tank and forces it through the pipe 3 into the auxiliary tank H. When the latter is emptied to the level of the lower end of the pipe 15, at the upper end of which is a liquid seal 21, delivery of liquid ceases, and the gas supply is shut off by hand at the valve 5. The pressures in the two tanks equalize through the injector, and the non-return valve 13 permits liquid to flow into the auxiliary tank. In filling the tank, the drum is connected to the tapping place 12 and the valve 5 opened until liquid rises in the pipe 1 and forms a siphon to the drum, when the cock S is opened and the liquid siphons into the tank through the pipe 2. A vent-pipe 7 with antiflash devices 10, is provided, and an indicator J shows the contents of the storage vessel T.
