Abstract

An underground tank for storing flammable liquids has a diaphragm valve(4) with a lower chamber(1) connected to the supply line (7). The upper chamber (2) is connected through a regulating valve(Rs) to a pair of float valves (V1, V2) inside the tank. When the liquid reaches the level(N1) the valve(F1) closes which in turn closes the regulating valve(Rs) so that the pressure in the upper chamber(2) closes the diaphragm valve(4) and shuts off the valve on the petrol tanker delivering the fuel. When the level reaches(N2) the auxiliary valve(12) is closed after the fuel in the delivery pipe(7) has flowed into the tank.
