Abstract

976,329. Pipe connections. G. G. HOMEWOOD. May 30, 1963 [March 16, 1962], No. 10187/62. Heading F2G. [Also in Divisions A4 and F1] A container 1 for dispensing liquid such as soda water, beer or still liquids has a first compartment 2 for the liquid having a liquid discharge outlet at the upper end of a tube 7 and a gas inlet 8, and a second compartment 3 for pressurized gas isolated from the first compartment and provided with a gas outlet 11. Spigots projecting from a. discharge head 9 open non-return valves of the gas inlet 8, gas outlet 11 and the liquid discharge outlet when the discharge head 9 is secured against a cover plate 18 by a screw 21 in a bridge member 23 located at its extremities in slots 22. The spigots may be of different sizes or the outer spigots may be at different radii to avoid incorrect coupling. Passage 12, a reducing valve 13 and a passage 14 within the discharge head 9 interconnect compartments 2 and 3. Thus compressed air or carbon dioxide in the compartment 3 can expel liquid from the compartment 2 through the siphon tube 7, a flexible pipe 15, a refrigerent-cooled chiller 16 and a tap 17.
