Abstract

938,528. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure; pipe connections. ARTHUR GUINNESS SON & CO. (DUBLIN) Ltd. March 23, 1962 [June 26, 1961], No. 11190/62. Classes 99(1) and 102(2). In a tapping head for a beer cask having a pressurized gas chamber formed therein, a pressure reducing valve 30, Fig. 1, is provided on the head between valve actuating members for the gas chamber outlet valve and a gas inlet valve on the cask. The head comprises a member 1, Fig. 2, carrying valve actuating nozzles 7, 8 and vertically movable against springs 19, Fig. 5, by a hand actuated cam 22. Nozzles 7 and 8 actuate the liquid outlet and gas inlet valves of the cask, respectively. Nozzle 8 is connected to the actuating nozzle 31 for the cask gas chamber outlet valve via a pipe 34 and the pressure reducing valve. Nozzle 31 is mounted on a sleeve 28 movable axially with member 1 and angularly adjustable relative thereto. Locating lugs 36 are provided on member 1.
