615,258. Casking and drawing off beer &c. LEPERRE, J. E. L. May 17, 1946, No. 15052. Convention date, Jan. 12, 1943. [Class 21] A cask is provided with an elastic pocket 4 which is filled with beer or the like under pressure by first completely exhausting air from the pocket by means of the counter-pressure of a fluid e.g. compressed air, introduced through a valve 13 into the space between the pocket 4 and the cask, then reducing the counter-pressure and at the same time allowing beer to be introduced into the pocket through a bung-hole 6 with which is associated a valve 7 which is controlled by a cock, Figs. 10 and 11 (not shown), connected to the beer supply pipe. The edge of the pocket is clamped between an elliptical head 5 and a ring-shaped member 3. The cask may be provided with a fluid-tight lining 10. To draw off beer from the cask, the counter-pressure of the fluid between the pocket and the cask is increased and at the same time the valve 7 is opened by means of a cock through which the beer is withdrawn.
