Alternating-current induction machines; machines with two or more armatures; rotary machines.-A high-frequency alternator having radially-arranged exciting and excited parts comprises parallel discs a, b Figs. 2 and 3, fitted on opposed surfaces with two or more series of coils, r1-r4, R<1>-R<4> and a continuous current is supplied to one series of coils r1 and one disc; the current induced in the series of opposed coils R1, is conducted to the second series of coils R2 and induces a current of increased frequency in the opposite coils r2; similar " cascading " takes place with the remaining series of coils. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement for obtaining greater current in which two oppositely rotating sets of discs 1, 4, 7 and 2, 3, 5, 6, each set being rigidly coupled, are employed; the discs 3, 5 co-operate with the disc 4 and comprise one machine and the pairs of discs 1, 2 and 6, 7 form two additional machines; the three machines are connected in parallel.
