Abstract

141,116. Harman, E. J., and Le Bas, E. Jan. 3, 1919. Coils and conductors.-Commutation in dynamo-electric machines is improved by dividing the rotor into two parts 1, 2 mounted side by side on the same shaft with a space between them, and arranging the winding so that the part of each coil on one rotor core is angularly displaced from the part of the same coil on the other rotor core. The invention is particularly applicable to motors for use with either alternating or direct current.
