Abstract

Pole-pieces, cores, and yokes. - A two-poledynamo with a single field coil of the type described in the parent Specification is made of plates so shaped that the frame and coil-carrying members may be separately assembled and then after the coil has been put in place, the two members are brought together so that the plates. overlap and break joint. The frame plates A, A' have alternate projections and gaps a, a<1>, Figs. 3 and 7, which co-operate with alternate imbricated short and long plates B, B<1>, Fig. 13, of the coil-carrying member to form the inwardlyprojecting pole, the whole being secured together by rivets passing through holes d. The poles may have projections b<2> on one or both sides to form leakage paths to the frame for limiting themachine output at excessive speeds as described in Specification 178,974.
