Magneto-electric machines. - In a magneto having are-shaped magnetic pole-pieces 1, 2 embedded in a non-magnetic fly-wheel 3, the fixed laminated armature core comprises two limbs 7, 8, one carrying a primary coil 10 and secondary coil 11 for ignition and the other a low-tension winding 9 for auxiliary purposes. The contactbreaker 17 may be mounted with the armature, and the whole be adjustable for timing. A commutator may be mounted on the shaft to reverse the alternate half-waves generated in the coil 9 for battery charging.
