Inductor machines; magneto-electric machines. - In magneto-electric sparking machines having an armature with laminations, the iron parts between the magnets and the armature which influence the flux lines are laminated over a slightly longer distance than the laminated length of the armature. The iron parts may be the pole-shoes or any adjustable or rotatable sleeves between the armature and pole-shoes. In the form shown, the fixed pole-shoes comprise solid end parts h and laminated central portions g of not substantially greater length than that of the central laminated part (not shown in the Figures) of the rotating armature a. The pole-shoes are held together by rivets i, the heads of which are sunk in holes o in the end plates h, and they are secured to the magnet ends m by screws k threaded into the end plates.
