195,739. British Thomson - Houston Co., Ltd., and Young, A. P. Jan. 4, 1922. Magneto-electric machines.-A multipolar magneto is provided with ignition windings 4, 5 on one or more of the armature poles 3 and on one or more of the remaining poles with windings 7 for lighting etc.; the number of armature polepieces is equal to the number of permanent magnets 1. Rectification of the lighting current may be effected by means of a commutator, or by means of a brush and segment, as described in Specification 168,106, or by means of a separate contact-breaker 8, as described in Specification 180,788.
