Abstract

165,514. Dennett, W. S. March 24, 1920. Rotary machines.-In electric motors of the pole-armature type, the field structure is constituted by permanent magnets. Fig. 1 shows the armature windings E1, E2, connected to a commutator C arranged to reverse the polarity, current being supplied by brushes " Po," Ne." The field structure may rotate and the armature be stationary, and different numbers of poles may be employed in the field structure and armature. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 3264/76, 4280/76, and 3024/90.
