Abstract

163,491. Meyer, J. M., and Henry, P. Feb. 20, 1920. Addition to 152,622. Charge, moistening; cylinders, pipes for. -The parent Specification describes a device resembling a spray carburettor for supplying a mixture of air and water, under the control of a suctionactuated valve, to the combustible mixture passing through the induction pipe. According to the invention, the device is adapted for use with an engine having an induction pipe of small cross-section, by providing the suction-actuated valve b controlling the supply of air and water from the device a to the induction pipe, with an extension b<1> adapted to close the outlet a<20> when the valve b is fully open. At normal speeds the valve b and its extension b' vibrate between their seats and air and water are delivered to the engine, but at extreme high and low speeds the supply is cut off.
