Abstract

120,679. Keith, J., Keith, G., and Whatmough, W. A. Feb. 7, 1918. Fluid-actuated valves.-For automatically controlling the proportion of air and gas in a combustible mixture for use for instance in internalcombustion engines, a current of air passing through a pipe 1 acts through tubes 6, 7 upon .two diaphragms 3, 4 of different areas, to which is connected a valve 9 for controlling the passage of gas under pressure. The gas pipe 10 contains a valve 11. The pipes 6, 7 and 9 may be arranged in several ways with regard to the diaphragms, but the mouth of the tube 6 always faces the air current. A throttle valve 2 in the air pipe may be situated on either side of the governor.
