Rotary disc valves; leakage, preventing; detachable nozzles.-A rotary disc valve comprises perforated and removable valve seating and valve discs l, o which divide the casing a into upper and lower chambers a<1>, m. The operating-spindle h is formed or fitted with a conical packing collar i held seated in a conical recess in the screwed plug f by a spring u which also holds the valve, disc to its seating. The detachable nozzle j is screwed into the casing and secures the seating in position. A stop-pin f<6> is arranged to work in a recess f<5> in the top of the plug f to limit the opening and closing movements. According to the Provisional Specification. when applied to turbines, the upper or outer part of the casing is in the form of a block adapted to fit the casing of the turbine, and the valve member seats directly upon the case of the turbine. The valve seating also may be formed integral with the top of the detachable nozzle.
