Abstract

139,633. Emmens, J. March 22, 1919. Safety-valves. - A combined pressure, and vacuum relief valve of the dead-weight type has the two valve seats formed on two hollow superposed parts A, B screwed together. The pressure-relief valve D is of the disk type and has a guide-stem E adapted to work in a socket F carried by arms. The vacuum-relief 'valve C is in the form of an annular ring and has a hollow guide-spindle H adapted to pass over the stem E and to work in a socket J carried by arms K. A loose seat having gauze-covered openings may be provided for this valve. A cover M provided with gauze-covered openings N is fitted above the pressure-relief valve. The inlet opening may be arranged between the two valves, in which case the vacuum valve is of the disk type.
