Abstract
161,954. Allmõnna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget. April 16, 1920, [Convention date]. Protects arrangements.-In a high-tension alternating-current distribution system in which each line is earthed through an impedance, the value of the impedance is reduced upon a fault occurring on one of the lines. In one arrangement the core is dimensioned so that magnetic saturation occurs upon the occurrence of a fault. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the windings of the coils .are cross connected, while in a further modification, shown in Fig. 4, the core is provided with an additional leg upon which a short-circuited winding g is placed. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, portions of the coils are short-circuited by switches h upon the occurrence of a fault; and in a further modification each core is provided with an additional winding which is short-circuited upon the occurrence of a fault. The additional winding may be the secondary winding of a transformer, and the various arrangements may be combined.
