Abstract
514,607. Electric transformers. RADIOAKTGES. D. S. LOEWE. Feb. 4, 1938, No. 3552. Void. Convention date, Feb. 5,1937. [Class 38 (ii)] Windings.-The external leakage field of a transformer, used in connection with a cathoderay tube, is eliminated by means of an auxiliary winding, which is arranged external to the core of the transformer and coaxial with respect to the primary winding, and is supplied with current from the transformer circuit, such that it produces a field having the same disposition as the leakage field but of opposite phase. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the transformer has a shell-type core 2 and the auxiliary winding 4 is symmetrically disposed with respect to the primary winding 1, external to the core, and is fed from across a resistance 6 in series with the primary winding. In a modification, the winding 4 is fed from a tertiary winding of the transformer through a phase shifting transformer. In a further modification, for a coretype transformer, Fig. 2 (not shown), the auxiliary winding is in two parts which are placed on either side of the primary winding and coaxial therewith.
