Coils and conductors; equalizing currents in parallel-connected windings in alternating-current machines, auxiliary means for. - The subdivided conductors in any phase of a polyphase generator are provided with reactances in their several sections arranged in mutual inductance with reactance coils connected in another phase whereby the currents in the conductors of the former phase are equalized in respect of the influence of the currents in the latter. The four component sections 1 - - 4, Fig. 1, Which form a single conductor in one phase winding and which are provided with external reactances A, as described in Specification 185,195 for equalizing the effects of their own phase currents, are connected to reactance coils at B inductively coupled to a coil C in another phase conductor, shown in dotted lines, and having such number of turns so as to eliminate the tendency to unequal current distribution due to the action of the currents in the second phase. In the form shown in Fig. 2 all the coils for controlling the current distribution in the conductors of one phase, both in respect of its own currents and those of another phase, are mounted on a common core J. The coils D which correct for the currents of the selected phase are in series with other coils E in that phase inductively linked with coils D' of the second phase, these coils D' corresponding to the coils D of the selected phase. The components 1 - - 4 at their common terminal pass to a coil F on the common core having an equal and opposite magnetizing effect to that of the coils forming the group of reactances E.
