Abstract
159,911. Bethenod, J. Sept. 2, 1919. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Turning-gear.-In a starter in which an electric or other motor drives the engine shaft 0 through a coupling disengaged by centrifugal. action when the engine is running, the ratchetwheel A with which weighted pawls V engage is supported by a separate external bearing P, so that there is no friction on the engine shaft when the pawls are disengaged. In the form shown, the ratchet-wheel A is driven from the starting-motor by a sprocket chain and the pawls V are pivoted on a disc S on the engine shaft.
