Abstract
155,589. Soc. d'Applications Industrielles Moderns. Dec. 18, 1919, [Convention date]. Spray burners.-A liquid fuel burner for furnaces comprises two injectors arranged in series. The primary injector comprises a valve-controlled fuel nozzle a surrounded by a coned tube a<1> which is supplied with motive fluid such as steam, vapour or compressed air, and delivers the mixture together with air induced through regulable apertures a<0> into a coned tube a<2>. The secondary injector comprises the coned tube a<2> surrounded by a coned tube e<1> supplied with motive fluid, the mixture being delivered to the furnace, with air induced through regulable apertures e‹, through a tube e. A plate g surrounding and formed integrally with the tube e is provided with apertures g<0> for admitting additional air. Regulating means for the apertures g<0> may be provided. The burner parts may be shaped so as to give a jet of oval. flattened or other section.
