Abstract

154,387. Petter's, Ltd., and Brooks, H. Sept. 19, 1919. Spray burners.-A liquid-fuel burner for use in connexion with internal-combustion engines for starting purposes comprises a body F having a passage J for air and a passage G for oil and having also a nipple 1 formed with a central passage H and one or more ducts M leading thereto from a main chamber K. Air or other gas under pressure serves to spray the oil from a nozzle L into a flame tube P air being drawn in through holes S and U and a portion of the mixture issuing from holes T being burned to heat the neck of the flame tube and assist in vaporization of the fuel.
