Abstract

155,034. Reading, H. C. Sept. 12, 1919. Cylinders, construction of. - In a two-strokecycle engine having a terminal admission port, compressed charges are directed into the cylinder downwardly and tangentially to a curve formed on a baffle on the piston. According to the construction shown in Fig. 1, compressed charges from a crank chamber are directed into the cylinder through an inclined port c disposed tangentially to a curve on a baffle b. The recess x extends below the face of the piston, and the face b of the baffle may be inclined towards or away from the cylinder axis. In addition, the curved surface of the baffle may extend through an angle exceeding 90 degrees.
