Pistons, cooling. - The piston of an internalcombustion engine using crank-case compression is constructed with a curved baffle b, which has a straight edge and directs the charge into contact with the head of the piston during the passage of the charge to the combustion space. A vertical partition may extend from the edge of the baffle to the bosses carrying the gudgeon.
