Abstract

202,369. Tuckfield, C., and Tuckfield, P. Feb. 6, 1923. Two-stroke-cycle engines with oppositely moving pistons and a common combustion chamber return a part of the air or mixture charge to the precompression pump during the commencement of compression in the power cylinder. The fresh charge is heated on its way to the pump by passing through an annular chamber surrounding the centre of the power cylinder. The pump may be heated by the exhaust.
