Abstract

Hydroplane vessels.-Hydroplane vessels, skimming-boats, and the like are constructed of a bow section a and intermediate and stern sections c, b, the two latter being formed with inclined bottom surfaces e to give a step formation when assembled. The stepped surfaces may be plane, or V-shaped, or inverted V-shaped. The bow section, together with the stern section or without it, is decked to accommodate aerial propulsion mechanism. The sections may be closed by transverse bulkheads, or they may be left open from end to end.
