Abstract

369,372. Lifeboats. MOTTE, C. M., 53, Avenue Secretan, Paris. March 6, 1931, No. 7008. Convention date, March 6, 1930. [Class 113 (ii).] The lifeboat comprises an enclosed metal hull 1, with a substantially conical central portion terminating at bow and stern in hemispherical compartments 2, 3 separated from the central compartments 20, 21 by bulkheads with watertight doors 23, 25. Three transverse channels 4, 5, 6 are formed in the upper surface of the hull over which is arranged the fore-andaft bridge 9 and the hinged hollow mast 12. The steering wheels 14, 26 are placed in a forward open cockpit, and in the bow compartment. The hydraulic and propelling units 30 driven by engines 301 are fed through intakes passing through the double bottom. The aft hydraulic propelling unit is arranged with an adjustable casing for steering purposes.
