Abstract

148,681. Blatchford, C. A. July 2, 1919. Limbs, artificial.-Relates to tool - holding attachments for artificial limbs of the type in which the tool is fastened by a screw clamping-plate in a socket pivotally supported in a carrying - member provided with means for attachment to the limb, and in which locking- means are provided between the socket and the carrying-member. The carrying-member c is formed with a screwed shank f for engaging the arm, and with side wings g to which the socket a is pivoted at h. The locking-means comprises a sliding plate j guided by a strap k on the socket and adapted to enter a second strap l on the carrying-member. Screw-and-slot mechanism limits the sliding movement of the plate and an actuating knob o also is provided. The tool is secured by a curved plate b loosely connected to a headed actuating screw c.
