Abstract
613,773. Mooring hooks. SAUNDERSROE, Ltd., and KNOWLER, H. July 2, 1946, No. 19746. [Classes 4 and 113 (i)] [Also in Group XXV] Mooring gear for a flying or other boat comprises a bow hook 11 pivotally mounted at 12 above the water-level in a housing 10, the hook being projected and retracted by toggle links 22, 24 operated by a hand-lever 26. The mouth of the hook is closed by a spring catch 18, which may be rotated against its spring 21 to allow the mooring line to enter the hook. During the initial portion of the retraction movement of the hook the catch 18 is positively moved aside, to allow disengagement of the line, by a cam 15 on the pivot 12 which engages a pivoted plate 16 bearing against a tailpiece 20 of the catch. With the hook in the projected position the hand-lever 26 is locked by a spring catch 27 engaging a fixed latch plate 28.
