Abstract
1465016 Supporting water tube boilers V J CAROSSO and J-Y CAROSSO 13 May 1975 [15 May 1974] 20216/75 Heading F4A A water tube boiler, comprising a tube lined combustion chamber arranged above a grate 13 (for burning solid fuel or household waste) and provided with supplementary firing equipment 14, a convection tube bank 9 leading to a gas outlet 2, a steam and water drum 1, and upper 18, 20 and lower 5 headers, includes supporting rollers 27 which are engaged by the lower headers 5 and are rotatable about axes 28 orthogonal to the longitudinal axes of the headers to allow for expansion of the headers. The rollers are carried in angle members 29 in supports 30. The boiler also includes economizers 3 and superheaters 21. Headers 18 are arranged at the level of the steam/water interface in the drum 1 and act to separate water from steam-returning water down tubes 26 which are arranged outside the tube walls. Of the side wall tubes 17, one in every two crosses the boiler roof to connect with a header 18 on the opposite side. Members 31 of a metal framework can be welded to members 29 and the boiler has an insulated casing 34.
