Abstract

1463334 Filter assembly ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 23 Aug 1974 [31 Aug 1973] 37166/74 Heading BID An oil tank (e.g. for hydraulic steering systems) comprises a transparent plastics container 1 having integral shaft 5 and inlet and outlet pipes 3, 4, a cover 2 screwed into container 1 and a filter element 6 having a spring- loaded end plate 7 which acts as a pressure relief valve. The container has an annular projection 14, the outer and inner surfaces of which are respectively cylindrical and conical, and the projection mates in a correspondingly shaped groove in the cover 2. The shaft 5 is provided with slot(s) at its free end and mounts a disc 11 for tensioning the spring 12. The cover 2 may be provided with an air admission and discharge device.
