Abstract

1418394 Oil filter ITT INDUSTRIES INC 30 Jan 1973 [31 Jan 1972] 4596/73 Heading BID An I.C. oil filter which screws onto a spigot 5 in use has a gasket 18 clamped between the filter element 13 and housing end plate 3, the gasket engaging the spigot to prevent leakage past the screw threads. The gasket may have a beaded rim 20 (Fig. 2) or be of simple L- section (Fig. 5, not shown). Either shape may also have an annular flap 22 (Fig. 3) to serve as a non-return valve.
