144,792. Cawdery, J. W. March 17, 1919. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Parachutes.-The sides of a parachute are provided with a plurality of holes, either a group which is permanently open and arranged unsymmetrically to the axis, or one or more groups which can be closed or opened by the parachutist during the descent. Two groups of three oblong holes c have flaps f, sewn on one side to the parachute a and having on the free edges lines g which pass to control lines h whereby either or both groups can be operated, by the parachutist. The flaps may have springs tending to keep the holes uncovered.
