[Classes 4 and 114.] A ship's rudder which, according to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), may also be applied to aircraft is made sectionally and the successive portions such as 3, 4 are deflected in the same direction by amounts which successively increase with respect to the fixed post 2 which is shaped to fair into the tapered lines of the rudder. The Specification as open to inspection also comprises the application of this construction to a plate rudder as well as a modification in which a balanced rudder is provided with a tail part which moves relatively to and in the same direction as the main pair. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
