Abstract

Stud-and-slot fastenings.-Relates to fastening- devices for dresses &c. of the type formed in two parts, one of which has a raised tongue or bridge adapted to engage under turned-up edges on the other part. In one form of the device, shown in Figs. 1, 3, the bridge b on the part a has an enlarged central portion b<1>, which engages under U-shaped turned-over edges g<1> stamped up or otherwise raised near the centre of the other part d. Additional means may be provided to prevent accidental separation of the parts, such as a bead f<1> on the tongue portion h between the raised edges g<1> of the one part d adapted to snap into an aperture c in the bridge portion of the other part a. In the modification shown in Figs. 6, 8, the bridge portion b is formed narrow at one end to enable it to pass under the parallel turned-over edges k. Figs. 11, 13, show a further modification, wherein the part a has a tongue p with enlargement p<1> adapted to take under the U-shaped turned-over edge r.
