Abstract

141,965. Crane, J. A. June 20, 1919. Locking nuts.-A washer 1 is formed with a log 2 to engage a recess 3 in a bolt 4 and with a tongue 5 to engage the side of the nut 8. The tongue 5 is rectangular in form and of greater length than the height of the nut. It is angularly disposed with reference to the washer and at the junction of the tongue and washer the metal is thickened and provided with a V-groove 6 so that the tongue will lie truly against the side of the nut.
