Locking nuts. - A washer D splined to a bolt is cut radiallv and eccentrically between the inner and outer peripheries to form a spring tongue adapted to engage ratchet teeth J formed in a recess in the base of the nut H. The washer may be located in a recess in another washer L, the tongue projecting through an opening. By turning the washer L, the tongue may be brought out of engagement with the ratchet teeth when required.
