Abstract

213,188. Youlten, W. Aug. 30, 1923. Locking nuts.-A self-locking nut of the type having an internal annular groove, and in which the locking is caused by internal distortion when the nut is screwed home, is provided with two annular grooves 10 so that the nut may be screwed on from either end. The outer edges of the nut may be bevelled as shown, to increase the locking action, or the nut may be square-ended and used in conjunction with a bevelled washer.
